it sure seems that way. ben grosse went to town on ben's voice, and made everything sound perfect. in a few interviews ben has dug into pretty hardcore into caleb. is this guy just a shitty producer or what?

jennifer aniston was hotter when her hair did that wavy thing. ah well...

Dude, Caleb Southern doesn't suck, regardless of what Ben may have said. Caleb's style is nothing like Ben Grosse's style, which is refined, digital, and more focused on one person, listen to some of the other stuf that he's done (ie Filter), that not so focused on say the bass or drums, mostly on Richard Patrick's vocal capabilities.
Caleb was trying to produce a band, he did a much better job of it. His string production is far superior, he varies many elements of the music, which I absolutely love. I love how if you listen to a BFF album, the songs all sound so unique, largely due to the production treatment. However as great as RTS suburbs is, Mr. Grosse doesn't do nearly as good of a job of treating each song as an individual entity making up part of an entire work, he seems to not care so much about that. I could say more, but I'll let somebody else respond.

Excuse my ignorance, but when did Ben "dig hardcore into Caleb?" I must have missed those interviews. I'm not being sarcastic, I'm really wondering.

I don't think he ever "dug into him." In fact, Ben recently said, "I can't imagine doing a BFF album without caleb, He was like a member of the band." Pretty nice words i think.

Ben might have been sarcastic, but isn't there a quote on this very page that has ben saying that "Caleb didn't know shit about recording" or something like that?

I believe that was a 'compliment' of sorts. Maybe in some other words of Ben, "he was crazy, but he got the job done". Caleb threw a bunch of mics all over the room and said "play monkeys, play!" And they played, and it sounded great. Sure, it was an odd recording style, but it worked.
