what qualifies as fat? I mean, is it just a little pudgy, or are you talking morbid obesity?

Fat is objective.

And, Kevin, you are not ugly. I met you. and you are not ugly. And, you were super funny, so you have 2 things going for you.

well, the times that ive been the happiest have been after i've lost weight. but im only 16, so maybe its just coincidence, but i dont think i would have had these happy moments had i looked like and had been the size i was before i lost the weight. it makes alot more sense in my head

breathing is a foreign task
and thinking is just too much to ask

I think anyone can be happy. Society is what controls most people's perceptions of fat. Not everyone is meant to be a size 5, so who cares. Morbidly obese might be a problem, but having extra weight is just as bad as smoking, drinking, not sleeping, sleeping too much, eating too much sugar, etc etc etc. I know lots of smokers that are happy, lots of no sleepers that are happy.

We can be happy underground, bluto. (Had to.)

and I don't like Benfolio calling me a fag...it's a legitimate question...seeing as you turn on the tv on Sunday morning or late at nite and all you see are infomercials dedicated to making people slimmer...

I just wondered what some people's opinions are. I know I have some extra weight on, and I'm not very happy, mainly because I know it's bad for me. Not because I have to look like brad Pitt or something...

and you get pissed at me calling out fat people and then call me a fag? What kind of warped world do you live in idiot?

health reasons are legitimate reasons to feel uncomfortable with being overweight...anything else was put in your head by society, and that really sucks...sorry...

im not talking about ALL fat people. just the ones that always complain about how unhappy they are with thier physical appearance and then go eat a bag of oreos, and sit on the couch all day. i just cant stand lazy hypocrites.

and no, i look better than brad pitt ;-)

my weight doesn't have anything to do with my happines. I like who I am and the things in my life.. I am happy and pretty and fun and great. There are many people out there that realize what a wonderful pretty person I am, inside and out..

so to answer your question, yes we can!

the only thing that upsets me, is how other people think they can talk to heavy people, just because they are heavy. People say mean awful things, right to you face. People you don't even know. Someone who has never been heavy just doesn't understand... It's not easy at all to lose weight once it's on there, (and don't dare say it is, or I'll hunt you down!) and no one should be made to feel like less of a person because they aren't the size the public says it's okay to be. You don't know the person's history... maybe they are sick,. maybe they have battled their weight all their life.. and maybe it's not yours to judge.

No fast food. No pop or soda or whatever you call carbonated sugar water. Limited amounts of dessert. Plenty of exercise. Lots of fruits and vegetables. A perfect and easy way to lose weight.

i did that....i'm not like huge or anything, but i could definately stand to lose a pound or two..anyway, yeah i did that and it worked REAL well. 10 lbs in about 2 weeks. it was insane. as pathetic as it is--talk about a confidance booster. it's probably allll back now haha, since school started i've been eating shit and sitting on my ass either doing homework or on the blue board.

first of all, i'm fat.
no, thats not me being a whiny bitch, thats just a fact.
i think the reasons ome people have gotten so up-in-arms about this thread is because the word "fat" is completely villified. its only an insult if you find it offensive.
next, i'd like to say that a person's happiness is related to their acceptance of themselves (in my opinion). the fat & skinny alike can all be miserable and/or happy. i'm not depressed about my weight and i'm not particularly concerned for my health. i eat healthier than anyone in my social circle and i'm also the fattest.....and the one with the least amount of health problems.
as for people looking down on me or saying mean things....i like to think of my appearance as a nice way of keeping people who aren't worth talking to away from me or at least very noticable, so that i may avoid them.

love yourself

yeah, i said it, and i meant it
