The Presidents kick ass. When I first heard them on 120 minutes years ago, I was like, "What the hell is this?" But now I fully appreciate them. They're one of many bands that I've really liked but never "gotten into".

I remember a few years ago the Presidents had a side project with Sir Mix-A-Lot called Subset. It was a rap-rock band and the Presidents played regular guitar and bass as opposed to the "Basitar" and the "Guitbass". Kind of amusing stuff, Mix-A-Lot's old-school rapping with the Presidents playing a very Rage Against The Machine-esque backing. They never released an album, but here's a link to a few songs that have surfaced:

They're coming to play at my school, MTSU, near the end of Oct. I'm planning on going. It's going to be a great show.

the three string and 2 string guitar idea was taken from Mark Sandman of Morphine which was ana amzing band!! I'm glad the Presidents give him the credit for it - they were friends too, so that was very respectable of the Presidents. Mark sadly dies on stage in concert...heart attack! Long live the Sandman!

Chris eulogized Mark Sandman...he wrote a song and performed it at his funeral.

I caught a glimpse of Caroline's booty....

Does anyone know where I can get that in a studio recorded form? I have the first album, but I kinda didn't follow up after that. I was supposed to see them at the Chinese New Year concert right down the street from here years ago, but they cancelled.... so it was only Cake and The Lemonheads. It was still a good show and I got to meet Evan Dando.

If a family living through the oil crises of the early 1970s were to be magically transported to a present-day car dealership, they would be astounded to find that America had found a way to have its cake and eat it too - to have safe, roomy cars with decent gas mileage and negligible pollution. But the same time-traveling family might be aghast to walk out of the doors of that car dealership and look out at a street today. Instead of driving large cars, the nation's best-educated, most affluent families have switched instead to tall, tippy monstrosities with mediocre brakes that block other drivers' view of the road and inflict massive damage during collisions.

It's on the "Lump" single....I actually got it at a record exchange for $2.00...it was pretty sweet. But if you check Amazon.com, I'm sure they'll have it in stock.
