does anyone know if ben allows taping or is there anywhere you can find his taping policy. i'm going to see him in portland and i really want to record it but haven't found if he allows it anywhere. thanks

i know, in general, he doesn't have a problem with it. but it's up to the indiv. venues, as to what they will let you get away with.

taping is allowed.
no sbds.
no mic stands over 6'.
venue policy may dictate things on a case by case basis.

Hey, Jake. I'll be at the Portland show, too... I'm not sure about the Crystal's taping policy, but the Roseland didn't allow taping/video/pictures at all. Hopefully the Crystal will, but just to be safe, I'd try smuggling. =)

We should meet up for the show! Me, you, Stan, Greyseal... it'd be great! I'll be at the front of the line... dunno what i'll wear yet though! Feel free to email me, Jake, or anyone else going to the Portland show.

man, that's really weird that the roseland didn't allow taping last time. i've taped several shows there (oar, howie day, glen phillips, etc.) sometimes they stop me to find out if the artists allows taping, but are fine with it as soon as they verify with the artist. i'll email the crystal ballroom and find out for sure if they will let me though. if so i'll be glad to get the recording out there for you all to hear.

No word on the setlists for this tour yet, since it hasn't really started yet. However, I (personally) imagine it'll be a lot like the Bowery show since it was just Ben and the piano (check www.benfolds.web.com).

just a side note about the bowery show, I get chills everytime i hear army and the audience singing the backround music...I wish i was going to see him this time around!
