I hear you and I agree with you. I wasn't comparing my situation with anything. All death is hard.

Allie - i know how you feel.

My mother died three years ago from a bout with cancer and although two of my grandparents had died, that was my first time being truly upset and impacted. I'm a sensitive person, so I cried a lot, and I'm a writer, so I wrote a lot. I got through it.

I think the most lasting effect is that I am absolutely paranoid that I, too, will get cancer and die young.

I think the unforseen difficulties were some of the worst though. It just absolutely wrecked my family. My brother's gone wild and my father got remarried (he started dating my mother's NURSE three months after my mom died). Of course, that's nothing compared with how it felt when my father got a heart attack last year and freaked me out that I would lose my only living parent.

I'm still dealing with death. Every day.

Cancer runs in my family......so thats why I don;t care about quitting smoking. I figure, I'm gonna get it anyway.

I used to smoke... it was my most favourite thing...
but it made me so ill.
