I Started A Joke is a Bee Gees cover. I've heard the original, but not the Wallflowers verssion. I take it that its good?

It's more of a drug song, but Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd has an underlying sadness to it. Americn Triangle by Elton John is really good too.

Love is fleeting but art never dies.

i know whenever i am sad i listen to
St. Ides Heaven- Elliott Smith
or
The Calender Hung Itself- Bright Eyes

situations get fucked up, turned around, soon or later

Can we get something straight? Ben didn't write 'The Luckiest' about you and your boyfriend. In fact, it has nothing to do with you two. I would go as far to say there will never be ANYTHING written about you that approaches that level of beauty. We should not listen to 'The Luckiest' in first person, we are on the outside looking in, admiring the view, but seperate.

The thing is, 90% of the great songs in this world are sad. Adam Duritz said it best when he said that when you are happy there is just not the same need to write.

something to think about.

situations get fucked up, turned around, soon or later

everything is exactly right, as I walk around here drunk every night, with an open container from 7-11, in St. Ides Heaven

Damien Rice's whole album is pretty sad. Even though it's very heartfelt, it's still sad.
