There is a point to screening what will make money. But it is ridiculous that this movie won't make money (or is believed not to) b/c it mentions something that goes against their beliefs. Can we get any more close-minded?

And it is a scientific show. It isn't some propoganda. But that is how religious people treat it. They act like everything that doesn't agree with what a magical book of truth says is propoganda from liberals...or Satan. Science can prove them wrong all day. But they will just not view the evidence. These people are brilliant.

I do hope there is a cultural swing towards secularism soon. This religous crap hurts my. I haven't faith in God or the citizens of our country anymore.

Dude, the South is at least 25 years behind the rest of the country. Coming from a backwoods city in central Georgia, I can speak from first-hand viewing. It's gross.

And Drew, I swear I saw your exact double yesterday while waiting for the shuttle to get to my car last night. It was weird, and he got close to me like he was going to say something to me but I was on the phone with my dad arguing about taxes. The end.

There is truth to that. The average American doesn't aim to achieve real success. They just want to get by. They end up working in a factory...and we send their job overseas b/c they are more and more educated over there. It is going to send America into the crapper. The jobs in America for the average person are dwindling. And it will continue....as it should. We should not go out of our way to help the lazy underachievers here.

You know, it's sad when people's life goals are to have 3+ children... and they start in high school. The county I went to high and middle school in had the highest per capita birth rate among 11-19 year olds for several years there. I think it might also be correlated that they have a 55% dropout rate from 9th grade to 12th grade.

In fact, I was just talking with someone whose father did urban planning in south Georgia, and even 10 years ago, a lot of communities did not have running water or inside watering. That is insane, and I'm sure a lot of places down there still have outhouses.

I can also get CrazyBluto to confirm this, but the south also has the lowest standards for teachers... so if you want to teach with nothing but a bachelor's degree, you could.

Dude, I dunno. You have to learn not to expect much. If someone really believes that a specific set of things is true (e.g. bible stories) and if they've really decided on it and had that view for a long long time, there's nothing really surprising in them doing something like that.
Besides, it's not like you're going to be able to convince them of anything. True, you get a scary "what is society coming to" feeling when you see stuff like that, but there's not a great deal we can do about it, and it's not worth worrying about stuff you can't control. And I don't really think any massive uber-christian government is gonna evolve anyway.

hmmmm...I have my doubts, seeing as it's moved more in that direction in the past two elections. and looking back on times when we did have that and people saying that things were better back then as a result

the first part is somewhat correct, however, I believe that, well, education is the key to an open mind blah blah blah

and when I read your statement, I had to reread it a bunch of times because thos peopel we're referring to say the society but all the time.
