Hi Andy

I just checked next weeks sky schedule for BBC one next week and Ben Folds is listed to do the music on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross next Friday (week today).

This is big news in the UK and is our version of Letterman on primetime saturday night TV.

The other guests due for the show are gordan ramsay, pracilla presley, and steve coogan & bob mortimer.

Hopefully he'll be on Jools Holland too considering there is a new series starting tonight. Arcade Fire are playing, massive!

Excellent. I'm hoping for a Folds/Brendan Benson double whammy on Jools Holland at some point.

New Order sucked greatly. Too bad Ben's only on there as a musical guest, I reckon Ross likes him quite a bit.

jonathan ross interviewed ben folds on BBC Radio 1 and he played a few tracks live on the same show when promoting Rocking the Suburbs I do believe. Im pretty sure Jonathan Ross is a fan.

Yeah, Ross seemed to enjoy 'Zak and Sara' quite a bit more than the song Neil Hannon played live back then, if I remember well.

The piano in the studio was pretty awfully tuned though, which didn't do the cover any good. He did a much more beautiful solo version of the song a few months later.

i think bbc radio 1...shit i dont remember ...well, yeh it most likely probably was. I remember vividly it was a saturday afternoon around mid-day and i was in the barber shop getting my hair cut. I almost creamed my pants, they devoted about half an hour of the show to the new album.

anyone goonna record it?

(Hi Mr. Ben Folds, please call LifeOnaPlate, I know you been avoiding or something, but, um, you know, you did something, its different from our oral agreement, and, uh, ya know, I could do something with it because I have all the papers here signed and the letter too, so, uh, pleeease get back to me, and I- don't like whatever people do, and you know, differently from what we agreed, and that's not the right way for any business.)

I probably will, but it'll be a VHS thing. I still live in the dark ages.

Fuck me, that's ace. Very mainstream thing for Ben to be on!

Wow, first the League of Gentlemen, then Ben. You are spoiling us with these guests, Jonathan.

Thats class!

Mr Ross is a fan, he played Annie Waits before RTS was even released a few years back (probably the only time the song has been played on a mainstream station). I thought the chances were that Ben would end up on his show as the tour coincided with the series...

so you're saying simply because it's not celebrities that are known worldwide, they must be bad?

your statement seems pretty silly to me, you don't need to know who a person is to enjoy what they're going to say.

and i was actually just kidding, when i said the opposite thing.

This is awesome as i know so many people who love this show...and have nbo idea who Ben is.

He'll play landed though. Come on...its the single. It's what bands/artists do when they are promoting a single/tour...they play the single!

I think most people are familiar with the concept of a single, they're just hoping he doesn't play it.
