Agree with ripper, this guy is pretty simple when it comes down to it, no attitude or anything about it, its the kind of album a female teenager buys and cries to, if you catch what im saying! Shit.

They play a lot of James Blunt in Starbucks stores. It's good background music, but nothing I would ever listen to on my own.

I bothered to log in just so I can agree at how bad James Blunt is.

he's bad yes, but he's been in top 5 of uk album charts of something like 35 weeks. his album was number 1 for many weeks.

sad, but true

A perfect reminder that chart success is absolutely no indicator of quality at all.

however, it IS a perfect indicator of an artits ability to connect with the general public. THAT is a fine art, even more fine than creating awesome music like radiohead or whoever else. Connecting with EVERYONE has to be the biggest challenge.... and James blunt has done a very good job of it

It may be hard but that doesn't mean it qualifies as a fine art, as far as I'm concerned.

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched tv. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus at all his acorns and also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?

Yes, I agree with everyone on this board. James Blunt is awful. I'd probably wouldn't hate him so much if I hadn't heard his song EVERYWHERE I WENT for about a month straight when it first came out.
I think Topha likes him though.

Everyone except scaramouche.

And he's only connected with everyone if you're counting the people who dearly wish that he'd never release another song again.

Yeah. I admit, i like the guy.
I think he writes some good songs, yeah his voice isn't the best, but it works with the songs.
He has been over played to hell, but that generally does happen when someone becomes well liked over here.
I just mainly like the fact that its not the usual crap that gets put into the charts and becomes well loved. He's getting the popularity and fame that Damien Rice should have got.
