Here's the thing. I found this torrent file called "Mountain Goats," and I downloaded it, because I figured, "hey, I like a couple of there songs." It turned out to be the entire discography, which is like 378 songs, or 40 albums.

SO is there anybody here who's like an expert who can tell me which albums are worth keeping? Because it takes up so much space!

I think they are great, but like Robert Pollard (Guided By Voices), John Darnielle puts out everything he records...if Pollard and Darnielle farted into a microphone they would release it.. so I have been turned off from Pollard for good since the quality of his albums (in every incarnation of his work) have gotten worse and worse because there is no quality control, so I'd prefer to miss a few great songs and never hear them if it means suffereing through 20 mediocre songs on an album to find them. Pollard even put out an album of drunken live rants.

Anyway... back to The Mountain Goats... keep Tallahasse, The Sunset Tree, Sweden, and Nine Black Poppies. Those are excellent.
