The people at my local video store, both stores actually, are fantastic. And while they like to talk a bit too much and it's hard to get away, they have some interesting tastes and opinions. I like them, but sometimes i go to other stores WAY out of my way when i don't feel like talking.

the day i bought Reinhold Messner my niece was with me and bought Millennium by Backstreet Boys and the cashier was trying to be lol and turned to me and said "enjoy that awesome Backstreet Boys CD!" but it was not lol at all.

you should have been like "THAT ONE'S FOR MY LITTLE NIECE" or "THAT ONE'S FOR MY FIANCE" or somethin

It was actually while I was dating my ex and it turned out the cashier knew him and figured out I was his gf based on the purchases, which only made that last one worse cause she knew it was the only one I'd picked out on my own.

The people at my video shop are mostly movie nerds which is good because they work there so they SHOULD know movies and it's fun to keep them guessing by putting the 'worthy' movies on top and then b-grade/UFC/horror/cheeze at the bottom of the stack.

I always hire/buy ecclectic stuff and sometimes wonder what more 'mainsteam'-ish sales people think.

"um... really weird mix of movies there, man." I was so pissed off

really? why?

I don't like people condescendingly commenting on my purchases anywhere, grocery store, drug store, or video store. I know it rubs me the wrong way more than it bothers most people but it's still extremely rude. And I'm not talking about pleasant small talk, I'm talking about snide, pointless comments under the guise of small talk. "What a weird thing to buy" -- why would you say that? What positive things can possibly come out of it? I'm not saying it all has to be anonymous either. I'm pleasant to people here but I don't say a bloody word about what books they check out unless I have something seriously constructive to offer.

But given the rest of your post, I'm sure you think this is all quite ridiculous.

Yes. A Hard Day's Night is one of the best movies ever made. Yellow Submarine is one of the best animated movies ever made. Help! is one of the funniest movies ever made.

Let It Be is awful. Magical Mystery Tour is weird and amateurish.

the album is good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

some of the footage is interesting. it probably needs a better editor is all. it's also very poorly shot though. i have bootleg footage for granada TV of the band rehearsing Hey Jude before it was released and LIB is no more cinematic than that

yeah thats what i mean... i guess i just like it for it's "behind the scenes" view at the beatles music. i feel like a non-beatles fan could in no way in hell appreciate it.
