ew, jello.

The name "Jello Boner" references the affection that Mormons supposedly have for Jell-O (a gelatin-based food), particularly when served with shredded carrots, or blended with canned fruit and set in molds[citation needed]. Green (Lime) Jell-O, for indeterminate reasons, is the most stereotypically Mormon of Jell-O flavor-colors.

To ask what is the purpose is to assume that you believe there is one. I’ve come to the realisation that I am merely in the middle of ‘the beginning of the world’ and the ‘end of the world.’ That is all. Quite boring sorry.

Isn't it about time those bananas got out of their pyjamas and got a real job?

srsly tho...

I am not sure if I believe in God, or a god for that matter. I try to live by the motto that good things come to good people. I know it sounds cheesy and some what niave but I truly believe it.

I am almost completely turned off by any sort of organized religion. I have a friend that raises his children using guilt of Jesus sort of stuff and I think it is wrong. What I mean by Guilt of Jesus is when he says to his six year old, "Jesus would want you to eat your peas" sort of thing.

I had a few bad experiences with the organized religion thing that have lead me to think that it is all a sham and that it is ultimately corrupt and almost entirely contradictory to itself.

That is why I worship cheese. I really like cheese...

I don't think, ultimately, Jesus really cares if a 6-year-old eats their peas.

Anyway I am really busy today with my little brothers wedding, but I'll be back geep to answer your questions.

I was thinking about it tonight at grad school. Apparently, I'm the only non-religious person in the room. All the women in my class (only 8 of us) and my teacher were discussing advent and the eucharist and alll this religious iconography and I was kinda in the dark. (It is a catholic school so it's to be expected.)

One girl in particular kind of irritates me. She's always discussing the gym or plans she and her husband of a month are making regarding where they can and can't buy a house. (She also trashed my school and district blatantly in front of me, so she didn't win any points.) She's always tan and playing with her ring and doesn't look people in the eye when she speaks. She talks past their head.

At any rate, she's very educated about the Catholic faith, and I believe she teaches in a catholic school currently. She apparently attended only Catholic schools too. And I wondered if she can see the disparity between discussing things the way she does and the personal actions she takes (as best I can see) and the messages of the book she's been raised on. It all seems so surface. It's very distrubing to me. I don't see any compassion at all, and I see someone quick to judge and exclude. I wish I could smack her and tell her it's not about knowing those things, but about using them as guidance.

TB, as for that woman, I would refer you to read Luke 18:9-14. It's a short selection, you can read it online, and it may be one of my favorite scriptures.

I believe the purpose of life exists in eternity, and that we are living in a part of that eternity right now. I believe mankind, the earth, the cosmos, etc. were not created out of nothing, but were organized by God for the benefit of his children, and that we all were created by him in his image before any of us were born here. This life is a "school" of sorts, we have all "gone away to college." Here we learn more about the opposition in all things; light and dark, good and evil, and everything in between. We all have the freedom to make choices in life, and ultimately will bear the consequences of the choices we make. God is just and merciful, even though the two qualities seem to cancel each other out. This is possible through Jesus Christ, who satisfied the demands of justice and allows mercy to be extended to us, if we choose to not just profess acceptance, but to actually learn and obey the things we commands. Through his grace, and by our actions, we can go back to God after this life, where we continue to learn and progress.

That's what I believe about the purpose of life, in short.

obvy there's more to the story than that. They have to have acreage because her husband rides four wheelers and they can't live in town because it's too dangerous (read black)
