what is good friday?

I still don't get it. Good Friday is to document when Jesus died, but he was allegedly risen 3 days later, but Sunday is only two days after Friday.

Someone explain that thought process to me please.

Jesus laid in the tomb after sunset through Saturday (day 2)

??? I think that article was about if the Sabbath could have been on a day besides Friday evening/Saturday. I didn't see a focus on the length of time Jesus was dead, mainly on what day of the week it was.

The part you're concerend with:

In Matthew 12, there is an account of the Pharisees coming to Jesus and asking Him for a sign. Jesus responded by telling them that the only sign He would give them was the sign of the prophet Jonah.

I suppose certain translations could have written prophesies of "three days later". But all I've heard of was "on the third day". And how it's written (in what I've heard) is Jesus died on the day before the Sabbath (i.e., Friday) and rose on the morning after the Sabbath.
