I thought the first Raconteurs was the best album of the last 6 years, and this album is better than their first. Its like this hotel I stayed at in Argentina once -- it was just so fucking simple and got all the basic shit right that it was out of this world and unique. I dig it.

didz, I'm enjoying it. It's a bit fuller than the White Stripes, and they can go in some directions the Stripes obvy can't due to instrumentation.

I wouldn't say VERY different. I've heard three or four tracks here and there and it's just good heavy guitar and drums. I'm excited for it, but it's not like there's a DJ scratching or the vienna boys choir doing backing vocals.

I didn't watch it. I got caught in the game traffic tho. I'm not a big Flyers fan, and I don't really like Thad Matta. He's ok. The team DEFINITELY missed Oden and Conley.

also, I try to never watch the NIT. It's kinda like watching women's basketball to me.

i agree with the NIT = useless. i'm an xu fan so thad matta = useless as well. it's kind of fun to see two schools that virtually never have chances of playing eachother but are so close geographically.

i agree. i think osufb is overrated. they play a posh schedule like northern ohio schools. plus i dont like jim tressel. just dont like him, no reason. but dayton is pulling away early. crowds pretty loud too.

I don't know that it's overrated. They play a different brand for a different style/climate. The Big Ten is won in November, so you have to build your teams for it, not some national champ game in a southern city.

also, I loooooooooove Jim Tressel. Have for a long time. My grandparents knew his parents fairly well so I was brought up to like that family.

theres no reason for me to dislike him. i think its the sweater vest. not to mention im also a big east fan. although, i will always cheer for osu against michigan. that kind of goes without saying.

I really can't believe how kick ass this album is. I can't stop listening to it. Then again, Jack White has always written great songs, now he has a great band to fulfill those songs' destinies.

I'm a big Dayton fan and they flat out did not show up for the 2nd half. OSU couldn't miss and UD couldn't find the bucket to save their life. I, like TB, hate Thad Matta and think the guy is a pompous ass. I wish him the worst for his teams in the future.

LOOK AT ME, GETTING THIS THREAD BACK O/T.

So yeah, I love this album.
I saw the band before the album came out (at their first ever gig no less!) and they were loud and raucous, and then the album seemed quite toned down by comparison.

This album sounds loud where it sould sound loud, and it very much shows off the skills of the rhythm section. It's more varied than Broken Boy Soldiers, and generally has better songs.

It's been a long time since I've been this pleased with an album by a band I already liked.

Oh, and the Black Keys album must have came out here earlier than it did in the US. I didn't know it was out yet til I saw it on the shelf.
