you know... I hate their new albums but now that I've dug up all my old CDs of theirs and finally bought Lincoln, they rock but sometimes I think they're either brilliant or stupid. |

a cross between my dad + steve buscemi = john linnell. |
I saw them live with Fountains of Wayne. They were really good. |
my thoughts are that they make TOO MUCH MUSIC |
I've always wanted to get into them. |
Flood is superb. I love just about every second of it. |
I've liked them since I was 7 actually. |
now you have that 'birdhouse in your soul' song in my head. |

Ana Ng is a super song, but I don't have Lincoln and it makes me sad that whenever I go into the music store they don't have it either. |
I really enjoyed NO! but I haven't picked up anything of theirs since. Mop is a HILARIOUS song |
i'm pretty sure they're brilliant. |
I like them a great deal |
i used to annoy my mom singing put your hand inside the puppet head. |

They were one of my favorite bands in college. Now I hear they're doing kiddie music. Any reccomendations for a kiddie CD by them? |
Another band who I think could easily move in the the lucrative children's market is Kraftwerk. "fun fun fun on the autobahn" |
Emaline, NO! is a good place to start imo if you want the kids to listen. Also, Flood translates really well across the ages (expect maybe racist friend) |
The first TMBG album I heard was Apollo 18, but I'm not sure that's good for kids. |
Thanks for the tips. I found that my hubby put Ana Ng on one of his mix CD's (that he puts in his car to listen during his commute because I normally don't like "that crap you listen to") and it made my heart sing. |
I don't see why they couldn't listen to any Giants album, there's a lot of music that's not 'kids music' that people I know or relatives play to their kids that has a lot of the same qualities without being as crap as most of the music designed for kids. (mostly punk, hip hop or pop-y stuff. eg. Ramones, Pavement, De La Soul, Beastie Boys, etc) |

“I can't believe Napster might be shut down. Music is for everybody. When people get excited about it, whether from hearing it on the radio or borrowing a record from a friend, or accessing it through Napster, they buy records and come out to shows.”
