odd enough choosing folds, but folds and pumpkins? |
1979 is such an underrated song |
hmm weird, i always thought it was hugely popular. |
no |
"1979" was the Smashing Pumpkins' highest-charting single, reaching number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 1 on the Modern Rock Tracks and on the Mainstream Rock Tracks. |
I am a big huge Pumpkins fan, and I would have thought either Today, Landslide, Tonight Tonight or even Disarm maybe would have charted higher (not that I didn't luv 1979). Color me surprised! |
wow! y'all its the fukkin smashin pumpkins who cares! |
who cares about half the shit you listen to! |
seriously! it doesnt even matter maaah mahh |
btw, the black keys are hardly boring. what do u listen to biship alan or some shit? i didn't mean to make it personal, like HALF THE SHIT I LISTEN TO lol you have a temper will e |
mnv i'm fine with u coming on and trashing stuff but why then get so goddamn defensive when ppl react? |
im just playin along, obvy u cant see my smirk on the other end of the screen |
so loud = not boring? |
i feel the same about the pumpkins as you do about the black keys, so i got defensive. but honestly, the black keys music doesn't do anything for me, and I've tried. i just don't ever listen. sorry vulture. |
i dont know grant, i just dont know |
i definitely read willie's "half the shit you listen to" as pretty good-natured/facetious. that's just my smirking 90s nostalgia over here though. |
i'm not saying the black keys suck either, i'm just saying the music they make does not compell me to listen more. that's all! let's end this with a "to each his own". i luv SP, i got defensive. i sorry. |
thats ok the pack sticks together i understand |
i'm listening to a black keys song now and it is boring, sry :/ |
its ok, grant, its ok |
is it though? |
what is the sound of one hand clapping |
it is grant. i know the black keys arent blues. i've got a deep passion for the blues, but yea there's blues elements, but the drummer grew up listening to Devo and MC5 i mean, its kinda everywhere. they're a 2 piece rock n roll band as far as i'm concerned. |
zomg!!! system outage and I missed the bitch-slap fight! |
you need to be slapped yourself |
yeah they've got kind of an ac/dc thing going or something which i never got into. or a jimi hendrix thing, without a lot of the interesting chord changes. of course that opinion is based on listening to like two (2) songs. |
well then i can point you the way to get a proper listening, because i dont see any ac/dc at all. i see the hendrix thing at times, because dan's one of the greatest guitar players ever. but dan does play some interesting stuff |
gront do u mind if i send you a couple tracks? i know it probably wont sway you because it seems like its not your kind of music all together, but it wont hurt either imo |
i'm assuming from what little i know that to appreciate the black keys requires some appreciation of Classic Rock (not classic rock, that's two different things). right or wrong mnv? |
just post a couple links to youtube vids, i'll be more receptive to that. |

“This is probably gonna be like 'Thriller', or something like that, where every single song, one after another, is just a MAJOR hit.”
