I am a big huge Pumpkins fan, and I would have thought either Today, Landslide, Tonight Tonight or even Disarm maybe would have charted higher (not that I didn't luv 1979). Color me surprised!

i was just making a statement that the black keys are hardly boring, which was just crazy, i cant see how they can be boring unless you only like metal and you think anything less than metal is not loud enough. the smashing pumpkins, they serve their nostalgic 90's alternative purpose. i think i made out to a girl during adore or some shit when i was 16, but i never regarded them in a high light. the black keys (which i've curbed my talking about them until this discussion) i think are brilliant. so here are some words to end with "meh" and "to each their own" and maybe even "ilu willie"

it is grant. i know the black keys arent blues. i've got a deep passion for the blues, but yea there's blues elements, but the drummer grew up listening to Devo and MC5 i mean, its kinda everywhere. they're a 2 piece rock n roll band as far as i'm concerned.

they're a band that once you listen to the right song, you really understand where they're coming from musically, which is a lot deeper than you might think. i dunno, it took me a good year or so of knowing about them to really dig them. one day i just picked a song and it was the right one, it was The Breaks. and I eventually got each album and fell in love with their sound.

oh damn i got tricked/tricked myself into discussing the black keys, i thought i wouldnt do that for a while ;)

yeah they've got kind of an ac/dc thing going or something which i never got into. or a jimi hendrix thing, without a lot of the interesting chord changes. of course that opinion is based on listening to like two (2) songs.
