because she basically said she wouldn't vote at all if Obama gets the nomination because he's black. Now she didn't say this directly, but she made a statement saying, "The blacks are going to take over the country." |
unfortunately your grandma probably is the norm, i have seen a lot of examples to lead me to believe that old ppl are generally pretty racist. |
which is why hillary has locked up the poor old uneducated white ppl vote (read: the racist vote) |
seems like it's getting close to the time grandma's shouldnt be thinking this way. |
they should have a voting age cap. |
white people shouldn't be allowed to vote |
sorry for the triple post, but |
You should only count the presidents we've had since black people weren't property anymore. |

I asked my 82 year old nanny if she'd vote for Barack if he got the nomination. She said she wouldn't vote at all. Then I asked her if she'd vote for Hillary if she won the nomination. She said that she didn't like either of them, but there's always the republicans. |

okay, so we should have had 3 by now. |

Barack's unlikely to get a vote from someone born in the 1920s. (Not that there are a lot of them to get.) |
isn't the demographic of this site mostly racists? |
My grandmother was racist but she'd be about 105 right now if she were still alive (god rest her soul) |
my grandma definitely thinks mccain is "too old" and voted for huckabee in the GOP primary, but i think she's open to voting for obama. she's not exactly a paragon of racial acceptance--she is like "oh i don't approve of interracial relationships," for instance, as if anyone needs her approval to get married--but just being open to it probably sadly puts her at the more progressive end of the elderly spectrum. |

that old lady is AMAZING. |
your AMAZING |
my grandparents are the best people in the world, but they're pretty racist. |
i dunno, my grandma loves everyone equally. i guess i was lucky. my grandpa was a bitter guy tho, i dont think he liked black people but it was more of a general attitude then just calling them the n word. he was an opera singer, so he had a general uppity attitude towards some black music too i guess. |
i dunno bout my grandparents. but i don't see my dad's uncle prob won't seeing how he thought blacks shouldn't even be quarterbacks |
my grandma voted for hillary in the primary. that knocked me back a few. she likes hillary, mainly because she feels that she's a good advocate for women. |
i saw a new gallup poll that puts george bush's approval rating among republicans at 60%, the lowest of his presidency. my thought, though, was "that high?!?" i mean, god. if republicans don't realize at this point that george bush's version of republicanism is ruinous not just to democrats, or to the country, but to the republican brand, then they are losing it. |

My family is largely happy to not like people based on their personalities and stuff. |
Or just in general, if your demeanor is much to go off of. Not saying, just saying. |

A family that hates together, stays together. |

Don't see what's wrong with basing your opinion of someone on their merits. Makes infinitely more sense than on their colour, nationality, etc. |

You're just an angry man, Gobby. It's cos of the frustrations caused by the hustle and/or bustle of the Perthian way of life. It's go go go. |
I'm not angry at all, I just get frustrated by herd mentality or when people celebrate mediocrity. |
me too boblou. |

My grandma originally said that she didn't like Obama and that she didn't believe Hillary would be good because she was a woman. She changed her opinion eventually, expecting to vote for her, then changed her mind again at the last minute and decided Obama was her favorite after all. Her reasoning: Hillary is a bitch. |

“Ben touched me very lightly on the shoulder, looked me in the eyes and said, 'What's up?' I said, 'Uh, not much.' Then his hand went down my back a little- more than I was comfortable with. He invited me over to watch movies- I thought. He started, basically, rubbing himself down with baby oil. I was really shocked, I didn't know what to do about it. So, I called up Robert...The rest is history.”
