My father told me about the Korea option, but frankly, there are a bunch of countries you can go to.

Here man, this is a site that has loads of jobs posted from a few different countries: http://eslcafe.com/ Just go up to the "job" tab at the top of the page. But if you just google "teaching jobs in ______" you can find loads of stuff in japan, Korea, china, Tailand, etc.

UPDATE ON THE BAD-KOREAN-TEACHING PRINCIPAL SITUATION:

I thought she would hate me and cause an awkward tension for the rest of the year if I quit, but I needed to. So I marched over to her room this morning and simply and as kindly as possible told her that I didn't want lessons anymore. She simply smiled, said "OK", and that was the end of that.

I'm relieved, and yet, let down by the anticlimax of the situation I've been dreading for five days.

hahaha no, sorry, calling an american citizen an american is a matter of fact, not political correctness. yes, he's of japanese ancestry, and in fact he spent some time as a young boy in american internment camps because of that fact. but he is american by birth.

You sure know an awful lot about George for claiming to have never had sex with him.

I'm with geep here, unless people start calling me British because of my parents, which they never will while the whities are the dominant culture.

I'm so modern that everything is pointless.

HALF WAY MARK!

My one year contract is now half up. Only 6 months to go, and if they're anything like these last 6, they'll go by rather fast.

I dunno, if they were just like the first 6, that sounds kinda Groundhog Day-ish.

Fine and dandy, just in the swing of things. Only a few more weeks left of the regular semester, then finals, and then school for two more weeks after finals where we just watch movies because Koreans are weird like that, and then vacation time. I've decided that worrying about the future is dumb, so I stopped doing it as much as I can, and I've really been enjoying the day to day moments.

How about you, Hector? Is planning for the trip running smoothly?

yeah great. refer to my new thread about not worrying about the future. i quit my job now that i've got enough saved away for my trip and i'm just gonna focus on finishing my film projects before i travel. i'm also done worrying and live day to day and try to do more of the things i care about than working my ass off for some asshole company.

oh and the trip is just over 80 days away, it's very exciting!
