Kelly, my girlfriend and I are thinking of getting a pet. Possibly a rabbit. With the acquisition of a rabbit comes the responsibility of "rabbit-proofing" the home. I have books strewn all over the place... I need a third/fourth bookcase; I know this. But I also have no storage system for my records, and I have a couple hundred... they're just in mylar bags on the floor. Do you have a recommendation for storage/protection? Should I really do anything dramatic since we might only be living there a couple more years at most?

Also, part 2: Have you ever had a rabbit? Are rabbits good pets IYO?

e.g. quote, song lyric.

kel: why do you think it is that a lot of women/wives have to constantly "raise the bar"? that is, have a hard time being content with the situation as is.
I find that if my wife has a specific complaint about something with me, and I grow and improve and mature and "fix" that problem, it is not ever good enough, and there is a new list of things that dissapoint her.

I find this to be a fairly consistent trait in most wives I know, and it eventually wears down the men to where it seems there's no real point in putting forth too much effort if there will never be any satisfying a woman anyway.
I KNOW there are a lot of husbands out there that are not pulling their weight, and are lazy, etc.... I am speaking more of a situation with more caring men that actually want to try and improve themselves.

(btw, I am not speaking in terms of sex in any capacity)

hmmm...who knew I actually had a real question.
I was just gonna ask why y'all be shoppin' so much.

im as confused by this thread as i am by my own new sexual doubts in myself.

Recently we built a giant media rack in the basement because we had too many small DVD shelving units and they'd taken over every inch of wall space. It was super easy and cheap to make. And freestanding, so you can get away with it in a rental:

If you can get away with screwing things into the wall, these kind of shelves are great as well:

Never had a rabbit. My neighbors growing up did, but they stayed in pens outside. I have heard that their hearts are weak and they can literally scare to death, so never put it in a position where a dog or cat could come into contact with it.

It's probably not that it's a new list, it's a list that was already there but she didn't bother complaining about it before because it would have been overkill. If you're putting forth some effort, she should notice.

I know I do it, too. I nag too much and get cranky when the house is dirty and blame Andy even though it's my fault, too. Then I feel bad 5 minutes later and apologize.

true, my sister had a rabbit when we was kids and the cat used to stare at it through the cage and the rabbit died probably from the staring.

I MEAN once my dog got out at my parents' house and went into the neighbor's yard where there was a rabbit loose. He was licking the rabbit or something, I don't think hurting it, but definitely messing with it. I got the dog away and checked the rabbit and it was totally terrified and stiff and I thought it was dead for a bit, but it was okay. Later I told someone about it and they had a similar story, but the rabbit actually died.

helpful answers, kel! thank you!

1. do you -- like me -- run into a lot of creepy old dudes with a weird, 1940s sense of when and where it's OK to flirt with women of various ages? if so, what's worse, those guys or the ones who call their wives "the boss?"

2. like you, my SO is currently doing a lot of homework. does andy do anything annoying during these endeavors that i should avoid? you can tell me in code, i won't spill.

1. Not anymore. When I was in high school I worked at a store and lots of old guys came in on Sundays after church and would flirt with us teenage girls. We just found it adorable.

2. If I'm working on something that doesn't require much concentration he can do whatever he likes. Unfortunately a lot of my work revolves around reading very boring books and I absolutely can't comprehend them with any sort of distractions whatsoever. I try to read while he's at work but usually it ends up where I have a few more pages and he gets home from work and that wakes up the dog who decides to eat his crunchy food. Basically I should go to the library before that point but I like being home when he gets home, you know?

I know that answers nothing.

The team or the state? The team - he gets into football more. I got into it much more when I was in college band and how well the team did meant how good of a trip I got to go on at the end of the season. But as an alma nater I'd say we like it equally.

The state - I've been homesick lately, so probably me.

Q: What is the deal with airline food?
I've only ever had good airplane food, so I have no idea.
