As I'm sure you know by now, booking gigs and dealing with unknown club owners and bookers can be real pain.
You're going to have to be a bit pesky, while trying not to cross over into "pest". Do what you have to do to get somene on the phone. Repeat emais after a week or two, but call the club constantly and talk to whoever answers. When they tell you , " oh, John does the booking, email him here," be a bit bold with these people. Ask if they know a better way or better time to reach him. Do they have his cell number because you "misplaced it" and you have a time sensitive question.

And once you have a name, scour the Internet for numbers; emails, an facebooks. I they're a little put off by your aggression, just use some od that unassuming, "kind thread" eman magc we have all seen.

In othe words, get them on the phone, thEn you will win them over.

This seems like very sound advice. The biggest problem is that right now, I'm trying to book a tour from across the world, and phone calls can't really be done that well at all. Also, many of the venues say on their website not to call about bookings, but still many do. All I can do right now is email really. I think I'm going to wait until next Monday to send the first batch of follow up emails. Hopefully a few of them will finally get back to me. Although, I'm definitely sure that once I have a phone, my "get gigs" rate will hopefully go up.
