srsly no one really talks about them and aside from that one single, i can't think of a single modest mouse song that i like. |
hipster bullshit and they suck live |
drew.... |
i actually saw them live once. i forget, i saw someone open for them i think. or maybe the tix were free. i forget. |
willie i am asking a srs question here |
i like their song "dirty fingernails" and their song "gravity rides everything" and their song "dramamine" |
i don't like a lot of really hard edge indie bands that everyone else in the world likes |
i've just emailed fronk, drew. you're on notice. just because you won a golden thread award does not mean you can take such liberties |
pavement and modest mouse are not comparable |
I like them. |
i've given slanted and enchanted 2 or 3 playthroughs and found very little to like about it. i think i've also listened to brighten the corners... |
if you didn't like brighten the corners, then i guess you're just not a pavement fan. SIGH |
also i have had trouble getting into the pixies, although i do like a number of songs from doolittle. |
I only have The Moon & Antarctica. I like some of it...I don't like some of it. So I can't really say for sure... 50/50 |
@willie :) |
pixies are great drew. bossanova has some songs you would like too, if you like doodlittle. maybe surfer rosa as well... |
maybe i just don't like rock and roll. |
is "portions for foxes" by rilo kiley a rock and roll song? |
i'm afraid that's alt-country, drew |
:( |
drew, maybe this will help. an example of a rock and roll song is Ben Folds- Make Me mommy. |
i don't like that song at all. |
uh oh |
ooh, sorry that is progressive indie folk baroque pop |
drew wait, there may still be hope. another example of the rokc and roll song is Gary Glitter - Rock and Roll, Pt. 2 (u should check out Pt. 1 if you havent btw) |
I like me some modest mouse. Quite a bit actually thank you very much literally. |

Modest Mouse is awesome, guys. Their later stuff is more suited for the .org crowd. Good News is chock full of some great stuff. The Moon & Antarctica gets all the pub but I'm not really a big fan of it. They kinda mellowed after that and it's certainly been for the better imo. |

“The fastest song I ever wrote was one of the sincere songs on the last album. It was called "Evaporated." Written in literally 15 minutes. As quickly as I could write it down and work the chords out.”
- Ben Folds
