I'm just your average middle-class, white Jewish kid from NJ. I recently graduated from the University of Maryland - College Park where I received a B.A. in Anthropology. I play the drums; I marched snare for the UMD marching band and played set for the pep band and one of the jazz bands. I am also the drummer for the infamous NJ piano rock band, ZANZIBAR SCUF. That's all for now. If you really need to know more about me like what kind of barbecue sauce I like to use and such, just email or IM me.
I'm sort of hodge-podge type of person. I enjoy a lot of different stuff, but music is a big part of my life. I love to perform and listen to music, of all kinds, I just wish I had the ability to compose, that's one thing I'm lacking. I can hear something and know what it needs, but I can't play it usually.
I also enjoy College Basketball. That's why I love being in the pep band: watching College Basketball + playing drums = Best Thing Ever! Honestly though, it's the only sport that I've actually consistently followed since I was like 7.
Other things I enjoy: TV, video games, beer, food, theme parks, National Parks, and assorted other goodies
Beatles, Black Crowes, Rush, U2, Medeski Martin & Wood, Counting Crows, The Band, Semantics, International Orange, The Darkness, Train, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Weather Report, Weird Al, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Bleu, Glen Phillips, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, The Word, Squirrel Nut Zippers (when Tom Maxwell was in the band), Owsley, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Primus, Santana (early stuff), Moke, Temptations, James Brown
I like all of them. Though I seriously think "Lullabye" is his best. Something about it just makes it perfect, or almost perfect. I don't know, just a song that I think is very well composed and arranged. Also BOWCCL is the song that got me hooked, so tha
Ben Moment: Talking to him one on one before the Sayreville, NJ show (7/5/04) for about 5-10 minutes. Got a picture with him, and gave him my band's CD. The show rocked also. Click here: http://www.benfolds.org/forum/26417
BF5 Moment - Seeing their Central Park Exravaganza in NYC in 6/99; full horn section, string section, Robert in a Tweetybird shirt while everyone else has suits, Darren's gong solo, Ben straddling both pianos and screaming "NEW YORK CITAY!!!" Awesome show.
